T'was a wonderful weekend that included family, ATV bike riding, and road trippin with friends!
Spring time means it's my mom's birthday and also one of my best friend's birthday.
For my mom's birthday, I met my brothers, parents, and cousins in West Covina to have dinner with my mom. It was so nice to take time out and celebrate the amazing woman that birthed me. We also had a special guest join us aka my dog Roxy. It was a great time sitting outside dining with the fam. I wish we took pictures but we didn't get the chance to :/
For my friend's birthday, we like to go out of town. Usually this time of the year I find myself in Vegas amongst the spring breakers gettin' ready to bring on the warm weather. This year we decided to switch it up. We decided to go to Pismo Beach early Sunday morning to embark on a wild adventure in the san dunes. The trip was a bit frantic for me because less than a year ago I flipped off an ATV bike in Costa Rica (you can watch vlog footage here and here). I am happy to say that we made it back safely with no scratches or broken bones. Just new memories filled with friends and fun.
I also wanted to mention how I reflected a little bit this weekend over choices. It's crazy how each choice we make, leads to impacts down the road. As we were driving up the 154 highway to Pismo, I couldn't help but think about how that moment came to be. In high school I remember feeling so down about not getting into USC (my #1 school) and eventually deciding to go to Cal State Fullerton. I remember deciding to live on campus and to also not live with my best friend who was also attending CSUF. Those decisions while feeling small and not important at the time, brought me so much happiness down the road and friends and memories that will last a lifetime. Looking back it's just so crazy how life turns out.
I felt a sense of calmness as we continued to ride up to Pismo because I had faith that in the end everything will work out with the new choices I'm kind of unsure about now. All in all this post got a little deep but just a quick reminder to enjoy the present but also realize that the choices we make now actually do have an impact on the future.
