#VDAYWKND2015

For the majority of my twenty-two years of life, I did not have a valentine on Valentine’s Day.

In the past I would go to major extremes to make myself feel better about not having a valentine (i.e. creating Single Awareness Day shirts with my friends and baking brownies to share with the single people in high school– we were so cute).

My freshman year of college I got stood up on a date so since then I have been forced to watch my friends go out and enjoy Vday with their lovers while I shopped the clearance end caps at Target.

This year I promised myself things would be different.

My best friend from high school (Kayla) lived up North and after almost 4 years of college I had yet to visit her. I figured this would be the perfect time so I convinced my good friend Lyndsay to take a bus ride up North with me to celebrate Valentine’s Day in the bay.

We started our adventure at Union Station late Thursday night where we caught the Bolt Bus which would have us in San Fransisco early Friday morning.

Riding the bus five hours up north throughout the night was perfect because we slept for the majority of the ride.Arriving in San Fransisco as the sun came up was amazing. I had never been up North before so watching the sun rise over the city life was the most beautiful scene to me.

When we arrived in the city the first thing I noticed was how the the streets looked just like they do in Princess Diaries and Full House.

Lyndsay and Kayla were very familiar with being up North so it made exploring and being a tourist real easy for me.

We ate. we explored the beaches. partied and reunited with an old friend. went sightseeing.

and had the best valentine’s day weekend ever.

Thank you  San Fran, Santa Cruz, San Jose, and Raven & Kayla for the amazing time.

I will be back.
